About
I have spent seven years on a 32-bed telemetry unit, the last three as a relief charge nurse. I am the nurse who notices the small change on the monitor at 3 a.m., and the one new graduates call when they are not sure. I want a unit that takes falls and handoffs as seriously as I do.

Featured case study
Cutting patient falls on a 32-bed telemetry unit
Unit practice council project, 12 months.
Falls were our most common harm event. With two colleagues I set up hourly rounding with a short script, bed alarms for every high-risk patient, and a five-minute falls huddle after each event. I tracked the numbers monthly and shared them at shift change.
